Maruti Swift Dzire
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire (Swift Dzire) was launched in 2008 and was based on the second generation of the Swift hatchback. It was introduced as subcompact sedan for the Indian market in order to offer a sedan-like car in a smaller size. Later, in order to get the tax benefits offered to cars with a length below 4 metres, it was converted into a sub 4-meter sedan.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire is based on the Swift hatchback in India. It was introduced with a 1.3-litre petrol engine and a Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel engine. However, due to the BS IV emission norms in 2004, the company replaced the petrol engine with a 1.2-litre K-series engine.
